Who Caught Barrie Fall Fishing Festival Prize Perch?

Barrie Fall Fishing Festival participants were kept on edge right up until the last minute,when the envelope containing the Barrie Fall Fishing Festival big $1,000 and $10,0000 cash prize perch tag numbers was opened. Lures & Tours special events team was on hand, and privileged to shoot footage of two of the anglers who caught prize winning fish - the woman who caught the first perch, and the family who caught the last perch.

Due to high wind forecasts, this weekend’'s TOP BASS, Rice Lake  Combo is being rescheduled for Sunday, October 21, 2012.

While the date for the TOP BASS Rice Lake Combo has changed, the location and start time will remain the same. The TOP BASS Rice Lake Combo will  still be at B.J. Tackle in Bewdley, and blast  off will still be a 7am or first safe  light.

Radioworld Congratulates Ontario Bass Federation Nation Team Ontario 2013!

Ontario Bass Federation Nation Team Ontario 2013 members were selected at the Hank Gibson Qualifier in Lindsay, Ontario where Lures and Tours was happy to provide photo and video coverage of the event. OBFN Team Ontario will be travelling to Casco, Maine to compete at the B.A.S.S. Federation Eastern Divisional Championship on Sebago Lake from September 16th - 20th, 2013.

Government of Canada 2010 Survey of Recreational Fishing in Canada ,the latest Canadian government survey offers insights into many interesting facts about recreational fishing in Canada. This survey,conducted every 5 years,shows recreational fishing is growing in Ontario. Here are a few facts from the survey released this year:
  1. Ontario has more Active Resident Anglers than any other province or territory the 2010 survey counted 924,549
  2. Ontario continued to be the destination of choice for the majority of foreign anglers, accounting for 76% of all foreign anglers in 2010.
  3. Ontario Anglers Catch, Photograph and Release!  More than half of all reported 2010 fish harvests were caught in Ontario (96 million). However,the overall proportion of fish retained by anglers in Ontario was only 21%
  4. Top fish caught by Ontario anglers are Walleye,perch,and small mouth bass.Walleye caught in Ontario accounted for over 54% of the walleye harvest by all anglers in Canada in 2010.
  5. Average age of people fishing in Ontario? – Male  50  Female- 45.
